Our children love cheese sticks, and as much as I love the idea of deep frying battered mozzarella, I’d rather something be a) healthier and b) less messy. This recipe is both and delicious too!
Bread of your choice (we used sliced whole wheat)
Shredded mozzarella or Italian blend (we went w/the blend)
Bake bread in the oven until crispy. Remove, butter, and season with garlic salt. Add heaping amounts of shredded cheese, set oven to broil, and return to oven. Watch carefully, as bread will burn quickly under high temperature. When cheese is golden brown, remove, slice long ways and serve! Quick and tasty, just the way this family of six likes it!
