It’s safe to say a lot of us are guilty of over-refrigeration. Case in point: butter.Left unrefrigerated, butter is every bit as spreadable as the fake stuff (spread) and infinitely better. Because the milk is pasteurized, salted, and low in moisture, butter can be left out without going off. In fact, as long as I’ve enjoyed room temperature butter, it has never once spoiled on me, lasting upwards to a week (probably longer if we didn’t go through it so fast). We use this butter dish for storage, rotating sticks from the freezer and/or fridge with one left at room temperature at all times. Yum. Butter.
